A question about world's biggest telescope

I'm from China with poor English. I will do my best to make you understand what i'm going to say.(*^__^*)
I found Mylot is a good place for me to read,to write and to learn.
I have read an article on the discovery.com that the world's biggist telescope will be launch. It need 1 billion dollars and a chanritable foundation funded by Intel co-founder Gordan Moore and his wife Betty will donate 200million dollars to it.
The question comes that they donate the construction just for charity?
they'll not get anything from it?

ohh.. i see...you newbie here.. ANYWAY WELCOME TO MYLOT...
i'm from the Philippines..in my country we are studying english since primary or elementary grades... however since not all people here are really good in studying the result is they are also poor in english..they can understand english however they cant express themselves in such language...
back to the topic..
well i cant really tell the reason why... but most of the reasons why they are doing such things is to be written their names in the newspapers again or watch them in tv's... to be seen by people i mean... they will always remember by the world by doing such....or maybe they are just kind hearted and wanted to do such goodwill and share their blessings without any hidden agenda...
