I just wanted to stop in and say hi to you all. I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas (for those of you that don't celebrate it, I hope your day was awesome too). My days yesterday and today were terrific. We opened presents last night when the kids got home from their dad's. And today, we went to my mother in law's, and we opened stockings there, and pigged out until our eyes almost popped out, napped for a while, ate more, napped again.....you know how it all goes. I am now most definitely ready to go and conk out on my comfy pillow with my stuffed bunny and the cats. LOL! Good night everyone. Hugs to all!

It's been very quiet here at my house. We all ended up opting to make the ham and that's it for dinner. lol I didn't feel like cooking and hubby/daughter didn't feel like eating so it all worked out. We did make another batch of dog biscuits which are in the oven drying out now. Hubby and daughter went over to his dad's house. Why, I don't know. Woke up to find them gone so knew that's where they went. Who knows, maybe they will come back rarin' to make another batch of biscuits. Dom sure is enjoying all the wonderful smells.

I've had nights like that too hon. And it doesn't help having a "cat blanket" that weighs about 16 lbs. LOL

Did they come back ready to make another batch? And did they come back with their appetites intact? At least you got a bit of peace and quiet. So how did the dog biscuits turn out anyway?

My daughter came back wanting to make more dog biscuits but hubby didn't. lol Fine with me cause I was tired and having a hard time getting to sleep. Just couldn't get comfy for the longest time. That's why I was here snooping around. lol Depending on my mood, might make another batch tonight w/o hubby. They aren't that hard to make, just time consuming.

Okay...you're just going to have to tell me what you pigged out on..LOL. I had my roast beef dinner as planned, with homemade potatoes au gratin, green bean almondine. For dessert I had apple/pear crumble..it was actually just supposed to be apple crumble, but then realized oh no! I didn't have quite enough apples for it...so I did have some pears and added that to it...hey just think I invented a new recipe..heehee--your stuff bunny???? Aww..did someone give that to you for Christmas??

Oooohhhhh! Your dinner sounded yummy! We had honey baked ham, roasted turkey, mashed potatoes and gravy, steamed corn, potato salad, macaroni salad, green bean casserole (sans crunchy onion bits), deviled eggs, banana pudding/vanilla wafers, chocolate pie, oreo cookie pie, and ice cream. My MIL sent so many leftovers home with us that I can't fit anything else in the fridge! LOL! No, I didn't get my bunny for Christmas. I got it when I was staying at a women's shelter several years ago...when I got away from the abusive jerk that I lived with. So now my bunny is my little "security blanket". Hahahahaha! One of these days it's going to fall apart from being snuggled so much. Hehehehe

Shame on me! I forgot to add my personal specialty to the list of Christmas yummies.....sweet potatoes baked in the juice with syrup and brown sugar, and then topped with marshmallows. Very delicious if I do say so myself. LOL

You know I'm really am going to have to stop reading anything here about food...just reading everything you ate is making me hungry again..and I just ate a little while ago. I don't know if you can call it a security blanket but near my bed is the "baby" kangeroo that came with a "momma" kangeroo that I've had since I was a baby.. you should see it..really pathetic..the fur part is all worn off, the eyes fell off long time ago, but I had sewn make-shift eyes and it's neck it wobbly..but heck still love that "baby" toy of mine--

I did have a good day. We weren't able to spend Christmas with our daughters since two of them were working but we did enjoy a nice Christmas dinner with friends. The food was absolutely delicious. Happy New Year, carolbee

Glad you had a wonderful Christmas. This morning I went to church, and came home for lunch. We watched a couple of movies on TCM and later on, we were over at my son and daughter-in-law's for Christmas dinner. We took photos of everyone there, opened our presents, and sat around and talked. I got this electronic wok, a soap and talc powder set, and a tablecloth. We also got some gift certificates for a couple of moves, Cds, etc. so that will come in handy.

For me, Christmas was pretty much like any other day, because I still had to work. My father arrived, but we are making plans to do something some time on Thursday. Anyway, for Christmas, I did enjoy seeing the various lists of discussions flooded with puppies, & hope to have this continue to the end of January. I can't help but get a laugh at that, as well as confusing people. Nice avatar, BTW.

The nap was awesome! I actually thought about going to my in laws in my pajamas, but it was too cold out to do that, so I got dressed....but the clothes were almost as comfy as my jammies. LOL

Christmas was glorious, my friend! We had four cooks working... I did the Tuscan turkey, rosemary stuffing, baked whole yams, candy and cookies. Our son did the plain unglazed ham and rustic mashed potatoes. Our son-in-law did gravy for both meats, and a brussels sprout/cauliflower/potato medley that was tossed in olive oil and oven-roasted. Then our best and oldest friends came with cheesecake... how perfect is that?? LOL!! I didn't overindulge for a change... but there's always tomorrow... and leftovers! And more cheesecake! Have a good night, my friend!

I'm just munching unsalted, dry-roasted peanuts until dinnertime, but the turkey stock is ready for its veg and meat, and its the perfect day for soup! Tomorrow will be hash, and the next will be New England boiled dinner with that lovely ham... okay, getting hungry... time to finish making that soup!LOL! With sourdough toast...
