Happiness is easy, here's a tip

Happily ever after..thats what we all want. But wait, there's a problem. Life does not start out as "Happily ever after" so we all wait for the day when "Happily Ever After' will start for us. 'When I get married', 'when I get rich','when I have a baby', 'when the kids leave home', 'when I retire'. Delay, delay, delay. Re-start today by realizing that nobody is happy all day, every day. Compromise, and realize your dream of happiness by treasuring the moments.A few good moments, thats a large part of all the happily ever after that most of us will ever get. Having a good nap, drinking an icey beverage, feeling the sun's warmth on a beautiful day. Those are the moments that added up will equal your share of happiness. But only if you attach value to these things will they serve as a foundation for feeling good. Lying on the beach, and soaking up the rays is no good if you hate it, so change your mind, or do something else. Be happy about little things. Once you're satisfied with a little bit, all the rest is gravy. True or not true, what do you think? Steve Nickse

Maybe my point was more along the lines of this. Don't always be waiting, waiting ,waiting for happiness to just happen to you due to some outside or uncontrollable circumstances. We could have a lot more good moments by just lowering our value system.Put more value on smaller stuff, all of a sudden life is a bit better even though the only thing that changed is you, and the way you view things.

Thank you so much for your reminder, its good that we are able to appreciate the little pleasures of life coz in a way we can see the positive things than focus on the negative things.

Zelmarq,
Some people are negative oriented by nature, they always describe the glass as 1/2 empty instead of calling it 1/2 full. This is all about optimism and pessimism. People who are optimistic will always have more friends and popularity than their negative cousins. And you know what, they will be called 'lucky'. But there is no such thing as getting success by being born lucky. People who succeed in a big way make their own luck by putting themselves in positions where good opportunitys arise. This is hard work, so don't think ever give up on making your own 'good luck' happen. Optimism helps in a big way, but 'hope' is not a winning strategy, you have to fight hard to make it happen, not just hope about it. Meanwhile be happy with each small success. That way your happiness has already begun and you won't be waiting 'ever after' for it to start.
