How long is it since you have read a book?

It sure looks like a funny question, but it struck me a couple of days back. I don't even remember when I read my last book! I blame it on lack of time!! Some people advise me to read just a page a day. But, I have never been the type to read just a page and then tamely put down the book. I love devouring books, not taking them a page at a time. There was a time when I used to read around seven books a day. But what with making a living, and maintaining a home, and tending a garden and taking care of pets, I hardly have time for books these days. Long for the luxury of curling up in bed with a nice book... :)

I use a PDA to manage my personal life, I keep Ebooks on them, as a result, I read all of the time...at the doctor's office, standing in line at the grocery story, during commercials, in traffic jams, at long red lights, basically while I am waiting for anything.

I finished "3rd Degree" by James Patterson last night. I'm half way through two other books. I try to read every day. I read while I'm waiting for class to start, and also before bed. I read when I take a bath. I try to squeeze it in where I can.

I still have a few pages to go to finish a book which I have taken nearly a month to reread it. I think I will finish it today. Yeah, it is the long stories, Sherlock Holmes, written by Sir Conan Doyle. Among the four long stories, the one which impresses and fascinates me most is The Hound of the Baskervilles. I find that if we insist to read at least a page or more a day we still could finish a book.

I finished the book I was reading last Sunday. I will start a new book on Friday. I have been to busy around the house to start it before then. I will have a few hours of free time at work tomorrow before my shift starts to read.

It has been a few months since i read a book. I think that the internet has taken over my reading time! lol. I used to read for about 30-60 mins after my daughter fell asleep everynight, but now i see that time as more time to come online and chat with friends, and mylot my little heart out lol. I do enjoy books a lot and i think they are good for you to read to keep your mind sharp! I enjoy mystery romance novels. They are the best ;) especially with a hot chocolate and a blanket :)

reading is really very important to improve yourself , but unfortunaly , that decrease more and more . people say that there is no time to do so , and even when we finish our work we will be so tired and we cannot read even a page. but for me , reading is essentiel , not daily , but at least a newspaper a week.

Hi positiveminded1977, It has been a long time since I have read a book. I would say almost 8 years. I feel bad about this. I just have not had the time, and ironically I bought about 6 books within this time frame. I know that one day I will be blessed with the time to read them. I will definitely look for the opportunity to take the time to read my books and buy more books. Great Discussion. Take Care.

I know exactly what you mean. I like devouring books too. Like you, I had a period of time when I didn't read at all. The important thing is to decide you want to read, and to be lucky enough to start reading a good book. Last year, I've read about 20 books, 10 in the last 3 months... I guess I was lucky to find some really good books.

The last time I read a book was last semestral break. So, that was like 2 months ago. I don't have time to read a book right now, or even search for a good book. So I think it can wait until summer vacation, after classes.

Just last week actually. I read the newest and last Harry Potter book. Only took me 3 days to read all 700 and something pages. Before that it had been about a month since the last book I had read.

I used to read a ridiculous amount, but for some reason, I almost sort of grew out of it. I picked up a book this week for the first time in a couple months, maybe even since the last harry potter book came out. I finished it in a day and a half. I remember how much i love reading, and I will probably be picking up a lot more books again in the future. :)
