I finally got a decent shot of the snowflakes I have been wanting to get. This makes me want to get a much better camera so I can get a close up of just one flake. This was taken this weekend on my front deck. If you look close to the bottom left of the light you can see the one flake I love. You can see the details of it's shape etc. The small orangish orb is actually a flake that landed on the lens as I was taking the photos this night. I love trying this out. It took about 50 shots till I got this one great showing. Thanks for allowing me to show it here.

Wow... I went straight to the enlarged pic and left a comment for you Grandpa Bob. I love this picture... it may have taken you numerous tries to get it just right, but the outcome was well worthwhile. I reckon you ought to enter that for some sort of competition.
Brightest Blessings.

Yes, had he not said the orange spot was a snowflake on the lens, I too would have thought it to be the moon.

It's a great shot. To see a snowflake so closely, & with the light in the background it looks so effective. I hope you are keeping all your favourite photos, to eventually publish in a book.

Thanks. I have thousands of pics saved on my puter. Someday I'll save them all to discs. HAHAHAHA! Who knows where they'll end up at huh?

Don't you just love the digital camera? It you did not waste any film taking the fifty shots. I love it because I can try my shots over and over again until I get the one I like.
I have not seen your photo yet because I am writing from email. I will look at it and remark as usual.

Great photo. I love the snow on the light. Is the light in the background the moon or is it just a light reflection?

It's nice having digital so you can afford to take 50 shots of a picture to capture the right one! Otherwise, that would be an expensive hobby if you were using a 35mm film camera.

Wow 50 shots before this one? you're a perfectionist i must say!
But I can see where you are coming from. i love taking photos of sunsets. but somehow through the camera lens the colours sometimes don't come out right.
and sometimes the sky changes so fast that after a few shots the original lovely salmon pink disappears never to come back again!
