Crystal Ball: LOOK INTO THE FUTURE !

United States

Before the markets open you can usually tell if the trend will be UP or DOWN and even to a certain degree, by how much! I do this by looking at how the Futures market is doing and by how the British 'DOW JONES' (FTSE-100) is faring. The US Futures market starts trading before the regular markets and while the price is usually not the same as the Indexes themselves, the direction is usually the same. Hence, most of the time, if the futures are UP the market will be UP, and DOWN equals DOWN. As to the British Index, the FTSE-100, it often times tracks about the same as US markets. Therefore, the British Index , which opens before US markets due to the time difference, is a good predictor as to direction and magnitude of the US opening. Any tips of your own to contribute? We can start another thread if you have any ideas.
