Does your ball python soak in his water

I have a ball python that will not get into his water. He'll drink it but he won't soak in it. Is that normal? When I worked at the pet store all of the snakes soaked in their water. He is very active and eats once every two weeks. The only time he isn't active is when he is shedding. I don't hold him much because he likes to be left alone. He will let me hold him though. But I am the only one he lets. My brother tried holding him once and he freaked out. So, I had to take him and calm him down. Does anyone else have a ball python that won't soak in his water?

Oh that is so cool.. I am sorry, I don't have an answer for you, but I found someone who likes snakes!!!! My family would never allow a pet snake, I think that is so awesome..:D btw, your snake looks sweet..;)

oops. sorry, I thought that picture was a picture of your snake.. I did ask my daughter, she took animal care and production in school and thinks what they had was a ball python and that he did soak.. But she would have to ask her friend to know for sure.. If you don't have an answer from someone else, I will have her ask for you..:)

Yeah, that's not a picture of my snake. I will have to take one so I can post it. I will work on doing that. He's a beauty though. He's about five foot long and very healthy. I love snakes. I have a water snake when I was a kid, but my mom made me set it free. Now I have my Rayden. Thats what I named him!

Ok, here is what what daughter found out.. A ball-python is from the rain forest and putting water in there is mostly to keep the humidity up. And he may get in there, just not often and you miss it, like maybe over night or when you are gone..
And it was a ball python that was at her school and she in the 2 years there never saw it in the water, but remember having to add water when it was low.
