Buying a server and need advice!

I'm looking to Buy/Rent a server, but looking more towards buying one. I wanted to make a game with some people and it'll be most likely for a 2d online multiplayer rpgisque turnbased game. If anyone has any ideas of the type of server i'll need for something like that, please respond and help me out with some advice & links :P
