I can't get my head lights to work, something is wrong? last time they went out, I went to get a fuse for it. it worked ok, for a while, I was getting ready to go on a trip, and could'nt go I will half to take it to the shop, I have brought bulbs, at least 3 or 4 times, lights shouldn't go out that fast, I mean the bulbs. I think it must be in the electric system? Dash lights come on and parking lights, It is weird?

I have had the same problem in my mustang. We replaced the fuse several times and the same thing kept happening. We bought a little bit higher voltage fuse and put it in there and it works fine now. It could be something in the electrical system causing it not to work right when you put in the right fuse for it also.

I think you are right! I am going to to get some more fuse, untill I take it to the specialist to check it out, I can't afford to put it in the shop.

My husband said to tell you that he really does not recommend putting a higher volt fuse in there. He said that when we had hail damage to the car a wahile back and took it to the shop to be fixed, when we got the car back, there were burnt wires above my sun visor which made my mirror light in the visor not work. He thinks it was that short that caused the fuse to keep blowing. He said you must have a short somewhere too.

Good luck Marcie, I hope its just the fuses. Sometimes you can get some good advice at AutoZone, you should have some of them where you live. They will sometimes even come out and test things for you. Stop in there, smile pretty and say please. Most of the time they are really helpful to women. I have had them test my battery, alternator, voltage regulater. They have even changed my windshield wipers for me. Check with them before going to the shop.

You are right, They will help you especially if you are buying their parts. I think I did take it there when I first got the Car, and it did say something about electrical. I know they have a computer, and they hook it up to your car, when I went there I wasn't having a problem like now.

Since you've been going through so many bulbs, and even changed the fuse, it sounds like maybe there might be a short somewhere. The dash lights and parking lights I believe are on a different circuit/different fuse. There might be a wire loose or something from natural corrosion. Electrical problems are hard to trace in a vehicle, especially the new ones where everything seems to be controlled by computer. Since you've already tried the obvious solutions with new bulbs, and fuse, and it still keeps happening, it might be easier for a shop to find out why it continually blows bulbs. Good luck!

Thanks, that make a lot of sense. I think it is a wire, something keeps shorting it out. My Girl from California told me that she had a car that did the same thing. she had to take it to a specialist someone who specializes in electrical for a Car.

It could be a short in the wire. What you should do is to take it to the mechanic and have him look at it. He will examine the engine, and also was it raining or snowing where you are? Sometimes it might get wet inside. It is definitely something wrong inside, not with the bulbs, and it could be a fuse, but it probably more serious.

You are right I think it is more serious, I am tired of racking my brains and spending money! I will let my husband deal with it!
