Every time I connect to the internet 'svchost.exe' starts up and seriously slows down my broadband speed.the lights on the 2 little computers at the bottom of the screen stay on constantly even when I am not surfing, I have to constantly end scvhost.exe-system process to return to normal broadband speed. I'm guessing this may well be a virus but my anti-virus programs cannot find it.
Any help would be nice.

svchost.exe is needed to run your computer and it can also be used as a back door into your computer for it to be attacked. Now I would search your HD and see if you might not be using the one in your windows directory. also check the dates and time on the files. one could be corrupt. also check against a computer which is operating normally
