i might be wrong...i might also be right.. some people might agree or disagree with me but im juz expressing my thoughts and observations.. these days, i no longer believed that college education is a must have....why? because there are special trainings, classes, courses offered everywhere for just a few years and what's more they are much affordable compared to college. i have graduated ages ago (4 years to be exact) with a bachelor's degree. i have become aware that majority of my batchmates didn't use what they've learned at all in the course. most of them applied for job which isn't related to what they've learned in college at all..it made me lead to conclusion....it must have been a waste of years and money not using that knowledge.... i have also realized that the lessons offered in special courses are much useful compared to those curriculums offered in college where they only teach the basics.. then also comes the call centers these days which is fast mushrooming in my country. it accepts students for at least second year level which means that anyone could be a call center agent as long as you've completed second year... then the case that most businessman doesn't exactly earn a degree or diploma from colleges.. most of them weren't educated at all but relied their successes through hardwork and perseverance and the guts not to give up easily... hmmm... what'cha think?

I don't think college education is a must have. As you mentioned there are many many opportunites to train or educate yourself in many ways. The main problem is your desire towards education. If you really want to learn something and want to be an expert on a subject, then the college would only slow you down. Because real geniouses don't need that really. Bill Gates left Harvard if I am right?

yes good point :) i guess education is not exactly a must have because even with degrees some people are too lazy to apply what they've learned in school. all in all it depends on one's determination to succeed. determination leads to hardwork. hardwork leads to success. :)

i 've seen and hear many examples shows many naughty teenagers don't even gain a bit skill after learning for4-year time.because they just kill time and never put their hearts into it. what a pity.so i don't think if one go to a college ,he 'll succeed.but in most cases,it does.so i just hold the view that you yourself is playing an important role in studying, working, ect. in conclusion,if one's determined, the college education will benefit him a lot.he'll gain great skill.and college education is a formal way. but ways to gain ability vary.one can also do well by learning by himself or following a worker to expand the knowledge of some field.and the facts show that some knowledge learn from our textbooks in a college is far from the reality. wow,it depends ,i think

sooo true...uve really made a good point here.. i guess its up to the person on how he or she lead her life with education or without education....this perhaps may be the reason why people who aren't even educated becomes millionaires, or successful than those who have gained a degree... but really, my observation these days is that majority of teens don't take their schooling seriously..most of them study without understanding at all or slave their butts off just to pass in school.. and also maybe just for the sake of earning a degree without their full heart and dedication on it...

Well, it depend on the environment, like in my country, you'll need the first degree at all cost or else you will be relegated in the society, so whatever trade or skill you want to specialised in, you need to back it up with at least university degree. However, I have heard of the members of the most richest men in the world who are drop out e.g Bill Gate. So in that regard, it might not really matter.

It's really depends on what field you plan to enter but I think education is very important and the more you improve yourself then the more your earning potential increases and you chances of overall success.
