Religious Views vs Respect for Each other & common decency

What happened that people have such little respect for other that religious views have become more important than respect and love for your neighbor?
Heath Ledger was a great actor. He was straight, but did take the role of a gay man in one movie. A Kansas City Church is planning on picketing his funeral because of this. How is this right thing to do? Where is the respect for the dead and for the family? Where is the love for the neighbor?

Oh this isnt the first time they've pulled vile crap like this..in fact they are VERY well known for it....I'm not a Christian woman BUT I have to say that they are a complete and total disgrace to those ppl who TRULY ARE decent Christian ppl....I've been to their site and read other incidents just like this that involved those sick b@stards and it makes my skin crawl.....Another really "winner" (though I'm not sure whats happened to her in the past couple yrs cause i've not heard anything new) is this chick named Tammy Ritchie...she had a website called The Perilous Times that was equally as nasty and Westboro.....
Ppl like that should be shot and **** on! IMO
