Knead Eraser or the Usual Eraser?

Hello!
I've been using the ordinary erasers most of the time when I do my drawings but, recently, I got to use a knead eraser.
Compared to the usual eraser, the knead doesn't scratch the paper that you draw. It just takes the pencil strokes you made and its like clay or something similar to that texture.
So, for those who have used both, what do you prefer? Please share your opinions about your choice as well. ^_^

I believe the knead eraser is what we sometimes refer to as gum eraser - kind of grey in color and very pliable, and you can kneed it :)
my daughter is a gifted artist but has not had any formal training whatsoever -
I had forgotten about the kneed erasers but will make an effort to find some for her.

I definately prefer the Knead Erasers! Not so much when writing with pencil mind you LOL but when I draw I absolutely will only use that type..Both my kids prefer it too when they draw actually..which is why I had to get more..they kept taking mine LOL

I also prefer them but, it really depends on what's available when I need something to erase errors in either drawing or writing.
They keep taking yours? Take them back! Hehehe, and it would be a take-and-take relationship ^_^; well, at least just for the eraser like that..

Well Knead vs regular erasers, I would rather use a knead one because they work excellent with pastel chalk and pencil. You could use them to add detailing to your work. But I too prefer to use a gum eraser because it's a lot smoother and doesn't rip the paper.

Yeah, I want to use knead erasers much more but the availability of it at home is quite few since my brother mostly uses it on his college work and anything else that he could reason out. He ain't selfish, he just wants me to have my own stuff so he can't blame others if his things get lost. Hehehee ^_^;
Uhmm, just wondering about the differences of a gum eraser and a regular eraser? I've just known two kinds of erasers or I might be considering gum erasers as regular ones without knowing?
Thanks for replying by the way!
