Visual kei in jrock

Visual kei has become the new wave in Japanese rock music. For the non-initiated, visual kei is basically a form of rock which the all male band all cross-dress, I kid you not. It makes me wonder a little about the state of the music industry. A lot of visual kei sound pretty good, even without the make-up, yet they have to cross-dress just to get enough attention to push their music through. Has the taste of the mass for music become so bad? What are your thoughts?

I've been into VK over 10 years now and it's a genre that's very near to my heart, it combines everything I love into one package (theatrics, metal, glam, etc); there's very few oshare bands I get into but I enjoy Nagoya kei as a whole. Seems like most good bands come from the nagoya region or have influences there
