The report is not yet in a deal. What a formidable lineup if Jason Kidd goes to Dallas again. Even Devin Harris traded includes in a deal. So, the lineups: Jason Kidd, Jason Terry, Josh Howard, Dirk Nowitzki and Erick Dampier. If the deal end this way.

That would be a formidable line up. But why are the NJN trading Kidd? Is he like a kid? Are you kidding?

I think it's a great starting lineup, but if you're mortgaging the future. If you want to think about the future of this franchise, trading Devin Harris would probably be a mistake. He can definitely be a solid point guard in a league where they are becoming increasingly rare. Meanwhile, the three-way deal that was supposedly on the table would have also sent Jerry Stackhouse to New Jersey, taking away a key bench reserve. Of course, it would be funny to sent Stack to New Jersey, seeing as how he went through the transformation from dunking superstar athlete to role-player (taking notes, Vince Carter?) with the Mavs. It would be a good deal for this season, but at what cost? There is still a lot of competition in the Western Conference and the Mavs might be the third-best team in the conference even with Kidd.

I'm not sure if I can call this is a good decision by the Dallas Mavericks management. For one, Jason Kidd isn't getting any younger, despite the impressive numbers he's still putting up at his age, getting those triple doubles this late in his career. Devin Harris has a very promising future ahead of him, and though he's late in getting to the level the Dallas Mavericks wanted him to be, I can't help but think: does this scenario remind anyone else of how the San Antonio Spurs almost replaced a 21-year-old point guard in Tony Parker with Jason Kidd? In the years that followed, the Spurs got championships which they may not have had with Kidd. Did the Mavs just make the mistake the Spurs narrowly avoided?
