Degrassi Junior High

Does anyone remember this children's programme, broadcasted in the 80s. It was a school in America, I'm not sure what part, but it was great and I was wondering if anyone remembers it and whether it's ever repeated or put on DVD? Any info about Degrassi would be warmly welcomed. With thanks!

Wow! It's nice to hear that someone else had enjoyed Degrassi Junior High as much as I had when it used to be on.. I loved how the show had brought up, or even talked about actual problems that truly did happen every day in schools. I've personally found that not a lot of shows do that these days..
One of my favorite episodes would have had to have been when.. They talked about Spike, & how she was going to be having a baby.. I find they really touched base by talking about this.. And they did such a great job of showing how difficult it is to bring up a baby, with no father.. I'm glad they touched on this subject since it is happening a lot these days..
I honestly used to watch that show faithfully.. I've seen them show it on show case a while ago on Saturdays.. But I don't know if they still do so now..
And the season has been released.. You can buy it off of amazon.com. Just type in "Degrassi Junior High" & it should bring it up.. I definitely would love to get the whole collection eventually.. But I find it to be rather expensive currently.. Though I know it is definitely worth each & every dollar being put out to buy it! . .

Yes, it's actually in Toronto, and the new version is currently on The N in the US and I believe CBC? in Canada? I do remember watching it, though I think I was a little too young to really "get" it. I caught it a few times on PBS and was pretty much hooked, but my PBS station never had a regular time when they showed it, so I didn't get to see it much. It was Degrassi Jr High for about 3 years, I think, and then the characters went to high school and it was renamed Degrassi High. There was also a Kids of Degrassi Street, about grade school kids, but I don't think it lasted long. I think a few of the Jr. High and High kids were on there, too.

it was canadian, they show the new version of it on The N, they also show the old episodes from the 80s sometimes late at night, and some of the characters from the original are on the new version. the new version is called Degrassi the next generation.
