What comes to mind is I have heard it said that a person can do anything they set their mind to. So if that is true than a person can also set themselves up for failure. If they tell them self they can not succeed than they have already failed before even trying. What do you think? Can you yourself cause failure by believing that you can not do a certain thing?

Yes. I think we have to keep pushing ourseleves to the limit to make sure that we succeed in our endeavors. You may not be successful in first thing you seek out to do but sooner or later you will be successful in something along the sdame line if you try hard and never give up.
Failure comes from the lack of motivation to keep pushing forward.

Right. Failure is when you give up on trying. Success is when you still seek out all the best possibilities and you finally land what you were seeking for to begin with. Never give up. There is always some kind of success for everyone out there no matter what.

I think this is also true. If we don't continue to strive for success no matter how many times something doesn't work out than we can end up failing. We have to have the stamina to keep on trying.

I agree totally - when a person starts off not having the confidence that they will succeed then they have as good as failed right there. I am sure there are times that luck sets in and the person will manage to succeed but is it really success?

I agree with you Faith. If a person believes that they are going to fail than the battle is over before it has even begun. The mind is a powerful thing and can either make or break you. Depending on how you are looking at things.

I'm always reminded of the Little Engine Who Could - "I think I can I think I can I think I can".. and he did.
