On another site I have a discussion board about mylot. There is one girl who is a member of the group that keeps posting her referral link. I think that is so rude. For one it isn't her board and for two obviously we are members if the board is to discuss and make friends on mylot. Its really starting to tick me off. Isn't she being rude?

yeah, it's not good directly posting referral links, but what do you think of asking people to check one's profile or website for the very same reason? anyway, people should be allowed to find a way to speak, maybe not directly...

I dont mind that but it isnt even her post. Its my discussion so if anyone should have a link on there at all it should be me. If she is that adiment about getting referrals she should start her own board.

I agree with you there it's youre group you should be doing the posting part and not her if it was me I would tell her to quit.

If you want to post or whatever thats fine but if all your going to do is keep trying to get referrals off of my site I mean give me a break. Get a life or something you know.

If she is simply posting her referral link and nothing else, then I think she is spamming and acting rudely. If, however, she is simply including her referral link at the end of messages and is actually contributing something to the discussion board, I don't really think that's rude at all unless you have explicitly stated that referral links aren't allowed on your board. Since it is your board, you can make the rules and should feel free to ban those who don't abide by them. Personally, I've come to expect to get "something back" from the discussion boards I participate in even though the discussions themselves are usually rewarding in their own right, too. Mylot, for instance, shares its revenues with me in return for my posting. Other boards let me include a referral link or some other link somewhere in my posts. I wouldn't be too excited to join a board that didn't let me do any of those things, though there are plenty of boards like that and they do still attract posters.
