Formatting an external hard disk

external hard disk - How to format a external hard disk?

My external hard disk is formatted FAT 32 but I would like to be formatted in NFTS. They told me that I must do this to bring the hardware to someone who fixes computers that opens the envelope and connect the disk to EIDE cable for formatted in NTFS. I think that this procedure is wrong and I am losing the warranty. While I prefer that the casing is intact, there is an alternative to format my hard disk to NTFS?

Maybe you can bring it to the shop where you bought that external hard disk and have them format it for you. But in my case, I'll just connect it to our computer and do the formatting like usual. The benefits of NTFS over FAT 32.. then again, there are certain devices that still uses FAT 32 on their memories or even expandable ones. for one thing, FAT 32 can't handle files amounting to over 4 Gigabytes compared to a NTFS ^_^

I am not sure about this but what my response is about a site that I go to on a regular basis that is very good for answering questions about different things to do with the computer. Also you can send a question and the person who has the site will answer it for you. It doesn't cost a dime to go there. I have used the site for many years and it has always helped me out. I don't know how knowledgeable about computers you are but it answers a wide variety of questions to do with things with the computer.
