Was it right of me to defend myself? After I made the post about the new pups someone made rude-snotty remarks to me. I'm not to blame for the overpopulation of dogs!! Spay and neuter isn't for everyone. I don't make snide remarks to people here,so was I right? This isn't for the person that made the comment either.

Of course you have a right to defend yourself. That's the thing with open forums like this, there is the high possiblity that you will receive a rude, obnoxious or snide remark somewhere down the line. Then, depending on the degree of rudeness you have the choice to either reply back (with tact of course) or simply ignore the comment. Everyone is entitled to their opinion and also have the right to express it. It's alright if people express their disagreement, but if they do it abusively then they should be reported. Rudeness should be tolerated to a certain degree - because when you are adamant about a subject you can't help but include some disdain in your response. It's the abusive people though that need to be reprimanded. I was admonished by a user about having my cat declawed, I did not respond back to it, because I've heard of that issue before and understand that many people are against it. I doubt we'll ever have any more cats after these 2, so she is the last one we'll ever declaw. As for responding to people who disagree with you, it's your choice. -Tink

If i was you. I would defend myself too. But i wouldnt be rude back, just matter of factly, and blunt. I have not read your discussion about the dogs, so i guess it wouldn't be my place to comment on that discussion because i have no idea what was said!! but If you find homes for all the pups and are responsible for the dogs, i dont see what the problem with not getting your animal fixed is. I know i would get mine fixed if i had one, just because i wouldnt want to responsibility of more dogs! But i'm also a believe in to each their own. So.. that being said, good luck livingtx :)

Oh of course you was right. Mylot has its share of rude, ignorent, under socialised people, just like anywhere else. However, as an aside I wonder if the person would have been so rude if you had been celebrating the birth of a new human being, surely the most over populated spiecies?
