I would change RAM moving from DDR2 to DDR3 but a friend of mine told me that agrees not because DDR3 cost more and when not much higher performance of DDR2. In addition to use DDR3 RAM should spend more money to change the motherboard.
Now I am really confused, someone can help me by explaining how it works really DDR3 memory?

Well, your friend is no totally wrong. It is true that "older" DDR3 wasn't all that much better from DDR@ but the newes ones (those with 1800MHz) are truely good when you need them. But they are a lot more expencive that DDR2 (i.e. in my country DDR2 are about 8 times cheaper _

What do you think about DDR3 now? I'm going to buy a new motherboard but I couldn't decide between DDR2 and DDR3.
