Can we have more informative postings please?

I agree. I hate it when my email inbox is full and every email I open from Mylot is some silly topic or discussion that really deserves no response at all and I have to go through and delete it because I cannot respond to it. I think alot of it is the to make their numbers go up. I won't criticise you at all. You have a very good point here.

Hi Byola... I'm pleased to meet you. I have been a Mylot Member now for almost fourteen months, and I have seen many people come and many go, but I have found, in that time, a circle of truly wonderful people, who are quite often well-educated in at least one particular area. However, some of these people live alone, and are either housebound, or limited to outside experience, and these, like to discuss their home lives and generally, find company in their friends. That's ok... we can all join in and have a laugh, but there are times when we come up with something more educative and share views on certain matters. Then, you have a set of people who join the site to make a "quick buck". They don't care to "discuss" anything, they ask you short, five word questions like "What is your favourite colour?", and post around twenty discussions like that per day, in the hope of earning money. Then, they never bother to acknowledge your responses and probably don't respond to anybody else's discussions, but rely on their discussions to work for them. This will never happen, because Mylot is about discussions... something you can get your teeth into and have a good debate with the person who submits the discussion topic. Mylot will delete short questions and responses, because this is not a Q/A site. Some of the people who posted really good discussions have gone because they've been "targeted" by jealous, or disgruntled people and either become fed up, or been banned. I miss those people greatly as the site has changed for the worse since they left. But, I carry on because I love this site and most of the people on it, whom I've encountered over the past fourteen months. I find that if my friends aren't offering anything up, there are always a few good discussions on "Top Discussions", "New Discussions" and "Discussions From Your Interests". Take time to look around because otherwise, you'll become bored with the same old same. There are some very entertaining and enlightening discussions in here if you only take time to look and are selective about what you respond to. I'm going to add you to my friends list, if you wouldn't mind, so that I can come and discuss some of your topics with you. I hope you will accept. Brightest Blessings.

Hi there! Well there are appropriate childboards or what we call as interests that the discussions could fell into. But in case you couldn't find any, I think you should ask other Mylotters as well. To be honest, there are a lot of informative postings here. Actually mostly all of them are informative. For me, informative isn't only defined when we are presented with a hard-based fact but also opinions as well. Just my two cents. Good luck on your discussions though!
