I need some help here...

I posted a question when I first started mylot. It had something to do with me finding a missing person. Let me clarify and maybe someone can help me. My dad has never met his father. My dad was conceived around March of 1959, born in December. He never met the man, but the stories go that my grandmother was seeing this man at that time and then the man left to go back to wright-patterson air force base, not knowing she was pregnant. He never knew as far as we can tell. Given the time frame and the ages, she was 30 and he might have been 25-35 at that time. From what I was just told they both were employed there, my grandmother worked on the base and the man was stationed there. My grandmothers name is Eva June Cox, she died at the age of 46. He may as well be in his 80's if he is still alive right now. His name is JOhn amey, amy, eighmy, eimy. we are unsure of the correct spelling. I also just heard that he may have been killed in a car crash possibly in the '60's, but I wouldn't know where to start looking. This has all occured in Dayton, ohio. My dad was only 16 when his mother died and never got the answers he needed. Talking to family members that are now deceased, we only have a little details to this big Puzzle. I can give more info as it comes to me. Does anyone out there have any suggestions where to look? or even where to start? I have been lucky enough to have my dad my whole life, and I think he deserves the right to know. He's been the best dad there is.
