I have always wanted to go to Bora Bora. Have any of you gone? I know it is quite expensive, is it worth it?

Okay, first I had to refresh my memory where Bora Bora is located haha. I did a search and looked around a bit and I can see where you would love to go. It looks wonderful. Sounds like a lovely location that would be so relaxing, plus all kinds of water activities if you want. I'd love to stay in one of the over water bungalows. I checked it out and would cost over $3,000 for a week's stay, room only. If anyone has gone, I would love to hear..Whit

Me too, a lovely south pacific island. But whoa...I don't think I could ever afford it.

Samoa is a lovely South Pacific Island that is cheaper than French Polynesia. The Cook Islands and Fiji are also a fair bit cheaper. Doing these places as a stopover on the way to Auckland or Los Angles is the best way to get to Bora Bora.

I went to French Polynesia and looked into going to Bora Bora. But it was wildly expensive to fly there or go there by boat. The trip by sea would have taken a while. Accommodation there is pricey. I settled for Moorea instead and I was delighted with its gorgeous beaches and 360 degree view without cables in the way. I was on my way to New Zealand and I could easily have blown all my budget there.
