I am always watching something on the news, and this is what I heard, Lemon Wedges on Glasses, that they serve you with the water, Has Microcrobic germs on the glass, they did a test and found some many Germs on the glass. I though with dishwasher, that would kill any germs on dishes , glasses, silverware, Ooh, It make you wonder, doesn't it.

I've often heard that too. While the dishwasher kills the germs, the problem is with the help who removes the dishes and the servers. I was always told to only drink my liquids with a straw when out because many servers touch the outside of the glass before it ever even gets to your table. Lots of times the waiter will be holding the glass up by it's rim to place it on the table. If restaurants and all would MAKE their employees wash their hands more, there probably wouldn't be half the germs being passed around. How many times have you seen a waitress/waiter keep their pen or pencil over their ear to store it, then they take it from there and write your order, then they pick up your cup or glass to give you a refill or something. (Or worse, keep it in their pocket with their kleenex! ewwwwww!!) Even if they had washed their hands, their pen was contaminated coming from their hair, and transferred to their writing hand, which is probably the hand they used to refill your glass. Did they push that hair off their face before writing your order, etc...germs are everywhere.

That is pretty bad. With all the things that are being found out about restaurants my husband and I don't go to them anymore except on a once in a blue moon thing. I would have thought with the use of a dishwasher that that would kill the germs. But it sure makes me want to stay away from restaurants. If it is like that now think about before all the supposedly safety measures were brought about how unsanitary the restaurants were back years ago.

Yea, it does make you wonder, to what we are exposed to each day, that's why there is so much sickness going around, and why it spreads so fast!
One consolation is that saliva has the acid in it to kill a lot of these microscopic germs, but probably not enough to kill all of them!
But just thinking about might make you paranoid!

A few germs just build up your immunity to those germs. I work in a boarding school and so pretty much I live with the students. There are germs all around me everyday when kids come to school sick or they stay in the dorm sick. I live in the girls dorm since my wife is the girls dean and so even when I am home I am still around the sick students. I get a flu shot each year now that I am in my 50s and I try to avoid getting sick but I am not afraid to be around the germs because it helps my immune system to build up a resistance.

Not many people know it but germs are everywhere ariund us, no matter where we are. The little amount of germs are actually good for us just as you have said, they build up our immune system.
The main reason why people get sick easily nowadays is that they are too clean. This is true. We use antiseptic soaps and take abtibiotics regularly even for a simple common cold. Some people are even worse, they consume more antibiotics than recommended.
The people in Africa have less sickness compared to most people because they do not take so much antibiotics. I have seen in Discovery channel, that they rub mud containing thousands of bacteria onto themselves believing that it will drive away illness and it is true. They are actually building a strong immune system from doing that.
