looking for like minded players

Hi Guys Ok so if you like command and conquer no doubt you have come across or at least heard about this game, command and conquer generals/zero hour. i bought this game around a year ago when it first came out as i love all the command and conquer games. i have beaten all the missions on zero hour and i have beaten all the skirmishes with maximum hard oponents ( though for some strange reason i did not get my generals promotion after doing the last one ). i have now taken to playing online against real players BUT i have come across a problem. I am the type of player who likes to build a decent base and a decent defense which of course takes time to do and gather a bit of money to make soldiers, tanks etc and of course here is the problem, i am encountering 90% of the online players as being what i call quick win players, they seem to be able to create a large army in about 1-2 mins ( and still i have not worked out how they do this ). I hate to say it but i hate this kind of game play, i find it pointless and boring, to me the whole point of the game is enjoy it and this is far from enjoyable. so is there anyone else on here who feels the same? or anyone on here who would like to be buddies and i'll put you on my buddy list.
