Is there a difference between discussion with no responses and new discussions?

I don't see any difference. I click on new discussions and they all have 0 responses so I'm wondering why they don't take one or the other out of the discussions box. It seems ike it's just a waste of space to me. I'm "obsessive compulsive" about a lot of things and now I have a new one to add to my list....lol. What do you think about this? Is there a reason for having both of them?

I think they are entirely differnt. The new discussions are discussions that have just been started that is why they don't have any response some can have a few. Disucssions with no responses can be a discussion that is a year old but no one has responded to. I guess they are a little differnet not alot.

New Discussion is the latest post. No responses could be older or just some nobody has had time to respond to. If you deleted all the post with no responses, latecomers will miss out on them.

a new discussion has just been posted. It hasn't been posted long enough to be a discussion with no responses. A discussion with no responses is a post that has been posted and has been around for a long time and no one has responded to it.

Yes there is a big difference. A new discussion can have any number of responses, whereas, a discussion with no responses does not have any. Just because it is in the new discussions catagory does not mean that it has no responses. It only means that it was posted recently.

Yes. Discussions with No Response means that viewers consider it as a waste of time to respond it or the subject may be unknown to them. The new discussions means the subject is new. In my opinion that unresponse discussions may be deleted after a reasonable time to save the space.

A discussion can have comments on it and still be new. Some old discussions could still have zero responses. I see them as two entirely different things.

although both of them having zero responses but still there is different between them. as like their name, new discussion is new thread which made by moltter in here. so the possibility to have response higher than discussion with no responses. however new discussion mostly related with the situation at this moment. either its recent issue, news or occurence. discussion with no responses clearly seen that its old discussion but not to attractive to reponse bymylotter in here. thats why the chance to get response not too higher than new discussion. if you noticed, discussion with no responses not too having good quality in their discussion. and i admit it for some my discussion which i having only zero responder

I have felt the same way, but not in an obsessive way. I feel like it is redundant. If a discussion is brand new, it will have 0 responses. I guess some people only want really fresh discussions with 0 responses, therefore, the look for the new discussions. I cannot come up with any really good reason, peronally.

Honestly I don't know if there is a difference but it's always seeme to me that they were the same. That might be something to ask Crash the next time 'their' around.

I suppose, ctry, the difference is in how long the discussion has had 0 responses. I have had discussions out there for weeks that only got 1 response, and I can't figure out why because they were perfectly good subject matter.

Well, I suppose both should exist for a reason, you know, some people might be just interested in new discussions and some wants to be polite and respond to those discussions that have no responses yet, which are not always new ones. What do you think?

New discussions, like their name imply, are new...Therefore, they await other mylot members to reply them... As for discussion with no responses, this category is for discussions since the start of mylot that has no reply even till now. The reason could be because no mylotter can answer it, or there is no interest to answer it...

The link that says new discussions usually all have a 0 response is because they have just been posted and no one has had a chance to respond to them yet. If you note, most of them have been posted in the last couple minutes. Some of them do have a response to them and will stay there for a day till they then become an old discussion and come off of the list of new discussions. The link that says discussions with no responses are mostly older ones, if you page down, you will see that most of them are older. Once they have a response they are no longer on the pages. So I don't think the links are the same thing. This is just my opinion.

Hello Ctrymuziklvr, For me, I think the difference is quiet obvious. Discussions with no responses means old discussions that yield no response and then New Discussions means discussions that is recently posted. Of course new discussions would start from 0 as always, if there would be no response on it after a day, it will be place in discussion with no response. :P

Yes there is a HUGE difference between new discussions and discussions with no responses. The new list are that, newly posted discussions. No response discussions can be very old discussions with no responses. Some can and have been many months old without a response. So there's the difference I have seen between these two areas. HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!~
