OMG!!This is so freaking frustrating!!! someone help please!

Okay so i dont understand what im doing wrong. i am tryn to put a background lay out whatever you call it on my profile.. im entering in the code and all it says it wont take effect untill i close the edit.. well there is no freaking close edit button on my sortie WTF?? I have tried over and over and over.. and still nothing!:( Mabey its me.Mabey im just not understanding it.. i dont know. can someone please help?. ive looked all over this site to find mabey a discussion of this topic already but nothing i found had to do with anything recently!! ugh. I will take any advice.. someone just pleaase help!
