No matter what the show is they always seem to have a pre program show. Of course there's one for the Super Bowl and then there are the Oscars and Academy Awards so we can see what everyone is wearing, what their hair looks like and who they are with. After all these years I still don't get it!!! Why do they have to put these shows on before the real program starts? I never watch them even if I am going to watch the show. I would rather see the clothes, hair and person they are with when the show comes on not know before hand. Do you watch pre program shows? Do you enjoy them or have a specific reason for it?

When it comes to the Super Bowl, I only see the game. I don't see the hours of pre game hype. If I did, I would be so tired of the talk that i wouldn't see the game. But when it comes to the Oscars, I do watch the red carpet shows. I like to see the dresses and the tuxs and especially who came with whom. I don't read any tabloids so the only way I know who is going with whomever is seeing them walk hand in hand down the red carpet.

I noticed that when I watched the Super Bowl for the first time this year. There were hours of pre game shows on every station. I'm always seeing who's going with who and who married who on headlines on the net so I already know.

The only two sources I trust are the Barbara Walters specials And seeing the couple at the Oscars.

I usually don't watch the pre-shows for the awards shows unless I'm with a few friends and we can "dish" about the outfits and who the celebrities show up with. My mother-in-law had an Oscar party that started when the celebrities were arriving at the red carpet. It was so much fun...we ate snacks, chatted, and flipped through channels to watch all the different pre-shows on E!, the TV Guide channel, and on ABC the Barbara Walters special and the Regis Philbin hosted pre-show.

I guess it is a good reason to have a party especially something like a football or any sports game. I'm sure the Oscar party was a lot of fun.

I don't watch them to busy. If I want to see the clothes, then I'll watch the show. The bad part about these events is how much of the day they take up with programing like the Super Bowl Events are all day. I do realize some of them get high ratings and will continue year after year. Its very simple just turn off the television go outside and I'll enjoy my nice weather.

I rarely even watch the actual shows anymore, ctry, so it goes without saying that I don't watch the pre-shows. Most of these "events" used to be a really big deal, but that time has come and gone. Many of the stars are over-exposed(you can't turn on your Tv, pick up a magazine, or log onto the internet without being bombarded by news of these people). Maybe I have become jaded, but I prefer to watch a nice documentary more often than not, or to pick up a good book and immerse myself in that.

I don't typically watch the pre-shows unless I am completely bored or really excited to see whatever the show is.
I normally don't watch the awards shows though. In that case, I would rather NOT watch the actual show and only watch the pre-show. The awards shows are long and unless Billy Crystal is hosting, boring. I'd rather just see what everyone is wearing and not have to suffer through the long show.
