Do you have "your" chair and everyone knows that if you are coming in the room they had best get out of it?
could be a special over stuffed chair, a certain spot on the couch, your place at the dinner table,
or even your computer chair. are you a creature of habit and always go to the same seating spot?

HaHa! Isn't it odd how we get very territorial about our place to sit in various arenas? I know that in church, I can look around and folks are in their 'spot,' and it is odd if a visitor has unknowingly sat in someones 'spot.' The same is true for my classroom. After the first day, those folks have claimed their seats and they stay in them throughout the semester! A few years ago, when we bought new den furniture, we bought what is called 'a chair and a half.' It is an extra-wide chair (but not as wide as a love seat)that one can now find hubby and I in each night when we are in the den! Although not spoken as a 'rule,' our son knows that he best not be in that chair when we gather to watch a movie or television!

I have my spot on the couch where everyone knows that it's mine. I will make people get up and relinquish my spot hahaha! Not company. I am not that rude. However, family members are subject to my wrath if they are possessing my spot.

Hi...
Yes, I do have some very special places I like to plop. My hubby and I sit in the same spot on the couch while watching television. In my office I have a big, comfy chair that is my 'turf.' A friend came over for a visit and I willingly shared my favorite chair with her..but normally I view it as my special chair..and contemplating space in my office. I wanted to maintain that and went so far as to buy a second chair for my office so she could sit it it and I could reclaim my chair back.
Our cats are the same way..we have five..and they all have rockers and cozy chairs they constantly seek out. So yes, habit, personal space...home turf...I think most of us have them.
Enjoyable topic...

Yes, I do have my 'spot' and everyone in my family knows Mom's place and NOT to sit there. I've even heard them over the years telling their friends, "Don't sit there, that's my Mom's place'.

The recliner in the front room is reserved for me and my puppy each evening for a couple hours. That's our cuddle time.
