Is Torchwood just getting too silly?

Warning Spoiler ahead. I really like torchwood and the first series was excellent. However the second series has been a disappointment and the last two episodes have just been too much. I was fine with Owen being brought back but fighting with Death, come on that's stretching things too far and now we have an undead Owen, which is incredibly boring. Maybe they think it makes things more interesting and makes the show stand out, rather than have a fighting aliens every week scenario. That's just my view, is anybody else finding Torchwood hard going this series and what do you think they should do about it?
