Recovery Homework #7 - Judging Others
At times, we have all been guilty of making judgments about others. We form our opinions by how a person is dressed or the perfume they wear or how their makeup has been applied. Sometimes we base our opinion of a person by what vehicle they drive or what kind of house they live in. We base our opinions and judgments on a variety of information.
Our opinions or judgments may be positive or negative. Why do we judge others? Have we ever judged another unfairly? Did we quit listening to the person after we made an judgment about them? Have we lost an opportunity to really know someone because we made a judgment?
Has this behavior become a habit? How can we change this?

Well I have to say I have been guilty of that years ago and my Judgement was positive so I do not regret it to be honest
I really do not know how we can stop that but then again I would not want to
When I say I judge a Person I judge them quietly to myself make up my mind about them
I will never listen to anybody when they tell me something about another only when I see it has happened
It really depends under the Circumstances to be honest

"Judge ye not be judged," "Don't judge a person by its cover," these are some of the old adage we heard while growing up. I knew of a lot of people who did nothing but to keep making false judgment on a certain person.
I would be a hypocrite if I deny ever judging others. But the word "judging" is too strong, in my case. I would prefer to call it as making an impression. I didn't last this long not to learn how to treat people accordingly.
I've been with different people from all walks of life. It doesn't matter whether that person is rich or poor. I would rather see what's inside his head and heart. :)

I have been taught those sayings also. There is so much truth in those words. I agree that how we treat people is very important.

I do my best not to judge others. But I am human and I have done that a few times, I have learned from it too. Some of the "prettiest" people turn out to be the "ugliest" when you get to know them and Vice Versa. I have met some not so "pretty" people (looks)and once I have got to know them, they turn out to be some of the most beautiful people in the world.

I have found the same things as you. People can really be a pleasant surprise if you allow them.

Like you, I have been trying to not judge people right off. I am trying to slow down, get to know them a little and then decide if this is someone I would like to spend more time with or not. I agree, attitude is an attribute that is worth noting.
