Yes this is true, at 2am this morning the US sets their clocks one hour forward for the deactivation of Daylight Saving Time. I didn't have anywhere to go, but I did miss that hour of sleep. It will take me a little more time than usual to get used to it this year, because President Bush altered when the time is moved up and back. It usually wouldn't be until the end of this month when we moved time up.
The reason that most of the United States participates in Daylight savings time, is to have more daylight during the day. When the seasons change, it alters how much daylight we get. Daylight savings times makes it so we have more daylight hours to work in.
Not all States participate in this though. Why is that? These are the states that have a majority of dairy farms, and switching the time back and forth messes with the cows milking schedule, so they say. I don't really believe that, because what does a cow know about time?

I have been managing today, but I will be alright by tomorrow. I am taking a day for myself, without the kids, and I am going to make sure it includes a nap!!!
Its real weird. I remember being told that in high school. When I heard it I was like, "Cows can't tell time, how can that mess them up?" The farmers could just compensate by pushing the schedule up or back, depending on if we are starting or stopping DST, but I guess that was too hard for them.
