Hi You All wonderful friends, Thanks for the warm wishes. Yes, the concert went spectacularly! It was much longer than expected with continuing applause and cheers from the crowd. Here was the program: - Overture to the Wasps (Veughan Willaims) - Piano Concerto No. 3 (Tchaikovsky) - Suite of 3 Pieces: Pan & Syrinx, At the Bier of the Young Artist, Helius (Nielsen). I love the Wasp piece the most. All pieces are not well known pieces at all, but beautiful! And we found out further information about our amazing, and renowned soloist, Mr. Meng-Chieh Liu, on the piano. He is an amazing survivor who suffered from major health setbacks, that caused him to be paralyzed in the hospital, expected not to make it, and never to play the piano again. After 2 years and endless surgery (metal in the fingers), and distorted fingers, he has risen, and performs around the world with lightning fast fingers. He did along encore, and standing ovation. The concert went for almost 3 hours (expected was 2)! Well, I flopped into bed, and slept for almost 11 hours! (Including the bothersome time change mixing up my schedule.) ;o) Thanks guys. Wish you all heard it. I gave teh pianist flowers and great praise. If you want to hear one article about his amazing devotion and push, this is one of teh first articles I found online about his story. There are many more that go into more detail too. But here's the website: http://www.boston.com/ae/music/articles/2005/12/02/illness_taught_pianist_a_great_lesson/

Glad to know that the concert went spectacular. Its very heart warming when you hear the warm applause and cheers of the audience, that means all of your performances were great. It was an amazing story of the solo pianist to have survived and recovered from a health problem (paralysis) and now performing so well around the world. Thanks for sharing. Again congratulations to you and the other orchestra members.

Joyce, Thanks so much for your response. And thanks for reading the article. Yes, some people are amazing. One of my dear friends, who I grew up with during teenage years, he was one of my gymnastics coaches. And he was such an uplifting, motivating guy. He made you feel so happy when you tried or accomplished a new trick. ...And he is paralyzed from neck down. Amazing man; I have written a music composition for him, telling his story, which has been performed several times too. :o)

Aaaaah don't mention wasps, I am highly allergic to them LOL! I did think of you last night on your violin, glad it went well for you, you really are talented and I admire you, wow! I bet you gave a lot of people satisfaction with your playing, and the cheering makes you feel really good doesn't it and proud too. Thanks for sharing x

Hi Sweetie! Ouch (with your allergies). When I was a young tot, I always remember, walking through a forest with my family. And guess who stepped onto a bee hive?? Yup. I can't even imagine what I looked like after over a hundred bee stings (poor, poor bees!!!!!!). But I did have to go to the hospital, along with family who were walking with me! It didn't feel too good. I look back and just mourn for the poor things, whose house was invaded and killed. :o( But anyway, :o) the Wasp piece was awesome. Thanks for the warm words, babe!
