Do you use a link advisor for safe searching and browsing?

Cybercriminals use lure sites to attract web users to sites they have invisibly infected with exploit code. This exploit code is then used to infect users' PCs with drive-by downloads of spyware, rootkits, and other malware.
Personally, I used a linkscanner lite as my security extension or add-ons for my Firefox and IE. It automatically inspects search results for exploits, hacked sites, fraud/crimeware, and other online threats. It also includes right-click, on-demand scanning of any URL you choose.
There are also other link advisors available on the internet, which are free of charge. One of the popular link advisors is the McAfee siteadvisor, Finjan secure browsing, Calling ID, Site Hound, etc. All of these are also effective in detecting any exploits sites.
You can also visit http://linkscanner.explabs.com/linkscanner/default.asp for online scanning to keep your surfing safe. Just enter the URL or web page you want to visit in the box. Linkscanner Online will inspect it in real-time for whether it is hiding any exploit code.
By the way, linkscanner lite is totally free of charge. :-)

Ohh realy, is this can be possible, i even don't know about this types of viruses, And i do have a link advisor and its called AVG link-scanner, and most of the time i disabled it just because my brwser gets very slow due to this link scanner, But if it protects my pc against such backdoor viruses then i do reenable it...
Thank you for such a great helpful discussion....

It's my pleasure. You can disable the linkadvisor especially if you're quite sure with the sites you are visiting. However, don't ever attempt to disable your antivirus and firewall okay. Your antivirus and firewall is your primary defense against these malwares and viruses on the net. :-)

Not really my friend. Using link adviser for safe browsing searching for me is too much for security. In my computer I have a good firewall installed and slow and need not worry about what site I'm visiting because of it there are any infected things on the site than mine firewall will definitely detect the same and I will be saved from the attack of the virus. Investing more money to do by a link adviser for me is not a very recommendable thing and still date I have not used a link adviser for safe search for safe browsing and still I am safe from virus whenever I am on the net.

Yeah, but there are some malwares which can bypass the firewall and the antivirus of your machine. Anyways, it always depends on the users if they are carefully surfing the net. :-)
