I read an article today about Lisa Marie Presley being pregnant. She said she wasn't happy announcing her pregnancy because she wanted to keep it a private thing. She decided to announce it now because the media was ripping on her for some photos that showed her gaining weight. They also compared her to a bloated looking Elvis. What do you think? Should she have been able to keep her pregnancy secret or does she have no privacy because of being Elvis's daughter and Michael Jackson's ex-wife?

Well, the girl shouldn't have married Michael, but that is neither here nor there. : ) She has a right to privacy, but eventually someone will find out about the pregnancy, and she has to know that. On the other hand, I support her effort suing the papers that made comments on how fat she was, and also that bloated Elvis comment. No one has the right to rip an innocent person, especially when she was pregnant in the first place. Being in the limelight doesn't give anyone the right to slander.

Imho...I think the media and public nosiness plays into a celebrities life far too much. If she wanted to keep her pregnancy a private thing, then she should have been able to without papparazzi and press making her feel like she HAS to. Really, it's nobody's business but her own, and the baby's father. In this society of today, there is no right to privacy due to 'people who want to know'... You couldn't pay me to be a star, for as soon as you're some kind of celebrity, by marriage, birth, or your own reknown, you are up for public nosiness.
I think we have the National Enquirer, Star, tattle mags and shows like entertainment tonight, etc, to thank for perpetuating this kind of attitude. They seem to dote on a public who demands this kind of information on those who they follow. So what if they thought she was gaining weight, that doesn't give them the right to comment or butt in. She probably felt she had to reveal it because I'm sure it hurt being compared to a 'bloated Elvis'...how rude for them to do that to her! It's no wonder stars have the emotional problems that they do....
