Last year I made this cake. It took me quite awhile to complete it. I wanted to use the theme of spiderman not only because I loved the colors but because my son wanted this very badly.
What can I say, I'm a sucker of a mom lol.
I had lots of fun making this cake and received complaments about it.
I'm going to post two other cakes I made to just show you what else I've done.

Good job! Always good to see other parents put out effort for their kids parties.
I did Spiderman for my son when he was 3 (cheated a bit on that one with a Spiderman cake pan). Two years ago I did the Transformers mask. This year my husband made him a Chowder cake (he is character from a cartoon network show http://www.cartoonnetwork.com/tv_shows/promotion_landing_page/chowder/index.html)
To tell you the truth, my husbands cake came out the best. I am at work, but if I remember I will post a picture of it when I get home.

Here is the chowder cake. I have to look around for the others.
Chowder is sitting on top his pet gas cloud kimchi (ya know like the fermented cabbage; instead of speaking he makes a plbbt sound).
All the creatures in the show are named after food. The girl bunny who is in love with Chowder is named Panini, he works from Mung and Truffles as an assistant in a kitchen. Definitely a must see on cartoon network on Friday evenings. Probably the worst part is that they have catch phrases and songs that stick with you!

That cake looks like it took quite a bit of effort. My son would love this cake too. Although I think Ben 10 is the one he would want most of all. Your son is lucky to have a mom who is willing to take the time to make a cake like that for him.

Awwwwwwe thanks lily bug! This is one of the best and fun times to just relax. I love baking and even more decorating. My son just deserves it. I would rather put time into making a cake for him rather than buying one.
This year I"m going to try to make a transformers cake. Wish me luck!

Hi brimia,
I've always wanted to join a cake decorating class. I bet it was really interesting! I just might do that actually.
When you do make your son's b/day cake I"m sure it's something you're going to be very proud of. It's not just about doing a well done job, but just seeing the look on his face and how happy and entertained he will be.. that was the best part for me :)
Thank you for your comment
