About Me Missing Work For My Nephew...

when I came in Tuesday night, me and my co worker talked for almost 45 minutes about how bad work is getting for us! First of all, she told me that the senior was really nasty about me missing work on Monday for my nephew. When she told my co worker I wasn't coming in because my nephew was at the hospital, my co worker said. "Oh no! Is it serious?" Then she told me the senior replied in a snide, mean voice "obviously she thinks it's serious enough to get written up for." And she didn't even ask me how serious it was, or what happened, when I called it. She also left my co worker under the impression that I called in right at the last second, when in fact I called in 5-6 hours earlier!!! My co worker didn't know that until I told her. In our scedule the senior also wrote "NO SHOW" in my spot on Monday. That's going to make people think I just didn't show up! They always right in why we weren't there; "sick", "emergency"...stuff like that. But for me she wrote NO SHOW!!!

This person is being vindictive, plain and simple. She obviously doesn't know how to supervise. Your co-worker, you can sort that out with, but people on other shifts who read the board, they will get the wrong idea and that's hard to fight, you can't be there for three shifts. But the co-worker who was privy to her attitude, that supervisor now has no credibility with. Anyone who acts nasty about a child going to the hospital comes off as a really back end of a horse. Also reasons why people are out could be a violation of your rights. Needs replacement for day/time/shift is more professional and would not violate your right to privacy. How is your nephew? I hope he's OK.

He's better now, still getting medecine, but no one is worried anymore. Thank you :) Yeah me and my co worker talk a lot at th start ofour shift about how bad work is getting. The other night we spent an hour talking and writing a letter to the manager. They had left us a note saying we were doing all the jobs on our check list and we were pissed, because we do everything on the list every night. And we also mentioned in our note to them about all the extra stuff we do for the morning shift people.

I am sorry she is giving you such a hard time. I would hunt for another job and as I am leaving, I would let her have it. How is your nephew?

he's doing better now. Thank you :) We still have to give him medicine every night though. Yeah I've been looking for a new job for a couple of months now...but no luck X.X I look in the classifieds all the time. i would love to go to one of those movie extra things they have in there--but i'm too shy LOL. Sucks huh? Because I know I would have a lot of fun with that.

You know your supervisor should not be telling other workers the reason why you were absent. It is none of their business. If they asked she should of said that you were sick today. I think that was unprofessional of her to say all those things and in that manner too. She doesn't seem like a nice person to work for and I probably wouldn't be working there for very much longer!

I don't really work for the woman I am talking about. She is over me in the company; but she doesn't make any descions about me. She can't fire me or write me up or anything. It didn't upset me as much that she told my co worker why I missed it, but the way she talked about it. I feel like she was making fun of me behind my back. But my co worker was really nice when I came in the next night, and asked me how my nephew was and everything.
