computer problems with a new computer

my son just bought a new computer on the 29th of february, he has taken it back to the shop already and then said there was nothing wrong with it. He brought it home and it began to show errors immediately. This is getting to be ridiculous as he has to take taxis to get to the shop with the machine. He called today and explained the errors he was having as he was begining to suspect it might be the operating system because many of the files wouldn't copy, yet he could install them on our other computer. the people at the shop think it might actually be the hard drive but want him to take it in again. Tonight he tells me that the system is working fine with the side off. So that leads him to believe the computer is over heating already. Has anyone else ever had so many problems with a brand new computer?

If it's new and you're getting technical problems already, have them replace it, or better yet, as the previous one suggested, get a better branded computer.

he has an excellent computer, quado core processor etc, they just have to find what the darn problem is and fix it once and for all or replace it but as I said he had it back at the shop and they said there was nothing wrong with it. And he just gets it back and problems already.

I would be calling the manufactor and explaining about the problems your son is having. It could just be a malfunctioning computer that is why it is overheating. I would try to get a replacement one or There should have been some kind of warranty that came with the Pc for atleast 30 days or more. I wouldn't keep a malfuntioning PC. It could catch fire and maybe cause more problems then it is worth and can cause to much stress. I know I have a love hate relationship with my computer..I hate that it has so many errors and is so slow but I love being on it instead of sitting watching television twirling my thumbs because nothing but reruns are on. So please advise him to get it replaced.

If it was me I would say I don't want it and ask for either a new one or refund. Because from the sound of it he needs a new one and this one will just keep continuing to have problems. Maybe it is because at the store they don't have it on as long as your son does? They don't give it time to overheat or mess up.Anyhow he really should look into getting another computer.

he is getting all the pieces changes one by one as they try to figure out what the problem is, now he is taking it back for a new motherboard and power supply no they ran the computer for 15 hours the first time to see if there was a problem, the only think left to change is the motherboard at this point.

he has been dealing with the store because it is on warranty they don't know what the problem is the computer tests okay on their end, he just had the hard drive replaced today, come home and still there are problems, now he thinks it could be the mother board and he has to call them again and tell the errors are no solved.

My daughter and son in law battled like that with a brand new computer dfor several months. They kept saying there was no problem, but I think eventuall got the hard drive replaced. It was a pain, and the computer would act up at home, but be fine in the Best Buy store.

I am not sure what problems / errors the new computer is showing. I am apprehensive about buying a new computer after several bad experiences. Fortunately, I have a friend on hand to help resolve my problems. May I know what operating system is the computer running on? A new computer shouldn't overheat so fast. Unless there is some defect in the system itself. Could be power supply not compatible. Could be some loose contact. Is the fan working?

that was one of the things my son thought of the system over heating, but the computer technicians where he got the computer say now that they will have to retest the hard drive, the operating system he is using xp, he didn't op for the new vista.

Hi Doll I use my trusty laptop so wouldn't have that problem. I hope it gets it sorted out! It's no fun to have something new that isn't working well. oxoxxoxoxoxoxo

Hes only had it 14 days, skip the tech support and tell him to just return it. I would suggest an HP (for a desktop) or a Toshiba or Sony (for a laptop). Unless he has the money to shell out for alienware, in which case I'd go with that for either desktop or laptop. Sounds like the one he got, is crap. If hes having problems with it already, its a good sign of whats to come.

he already had it back in the shop once and they said nothing is wrong with it and now he got it back and within a day it is acting up again, it is most likely over heating or the hard drive is defective from what he can see.
