Ok I went shopping and to a movie with my family today. We took the bus first stop the movies College Road Trip (Funny and sad if you have kids leaving home). After the movie we waited 20 minutes for the next bus to go to the dollar tree and Wal-Mart! Got groceries and a few things for the house and some Easter stuff. Called a cab/taxi at 4:00 PM and at 4:30 we were still waiting and the dispatcher said it could be another 30 minutes or 1 hour!!! I think that is a rediculous wait and so did the cab driver we finally got after waiting 45 minutes. He said they need about 30 cabs in Kenner (were we live) and they don't have it and he also said that some of the cab drivers pass on the Wal-Mart calls!!! He said it don't matter to him as long as you have money. lol He told us about the cab industry and if you pay the compay $350 a week, you can work when you want and for how ever long you want. After you pay the $350 the rest is your's, so I am wondering WHY DO SOME CAB DRIVERS PASS ON CUSTOMERS?????!!!!!!!!!!! This cab driver said you can make anywhere between $800 and $1000.00 a week clear after the $350 it just doesn't make since to me to pass up on a customer. Anyway we had a nice time today besides the cab problem :)

Is Walmart a long drive away from all the other stores? It would make sense if your store is like mine and nothing else is near it. It would mean at least 1 less pickup and there are people that call in, then decide they don't need to be picked up and leave. This is costly to the driver. Many years ago when I was starting college my boyfriend at the time was a cab driver. He had problems getting paid with real honest money from certain parts of town. The police would want the money for evidence and he refused to do pick ups in certain parts of town.

No this is a city, there is wal-mart, walgreens, a hospital, a dollar tree, radio shack, the post office, and residential areas around it all so they make the drive to pick up from the hospital or residences, just not the shopping areas. lol It is really because of all the groceries. I saw a lady with 3 baskets full!!! The cab driver said that is mostly their reason for not wanting to pick up the fair. Thanks for the reply

Wow looks like it might be time to be a cab driver! LOL but... who pays the gas??? $350 a week does not seem like a lot after car expenses and taxes....so the driver must be in charge of the fuel. I can only imagine!
