it happened a 3 years back when my daughter went to the beach for an overnight thing together with her friends..and we decided to pick her up in the morning so that i could breathed some fresh air and do some walking along the beach...as we came nearer to our destination we nearly collided a truck as he tried to overtake the car ahead of us..since the the break did not function at all...and i screamed when i found out and closed my eyes so that i cant see the collision and pray...luckily the truck was travelling in a low speed and was able to hit the break immdiately...it was an incident in my life which i cant forget..that when im in the car with him, (my husband) i always remind him if the break were ok and etc..and sometimes i became paranoid about it.. what about you? any experiences? please share

It's a good thing that nothing serious really happened to you. I remember riding in my aunt's car, along with my cousins, when I was about 6 years old. When we turned to go to the right, another vehicle hit us on the side, the side where I was! It's a good thing that the vehicle just started to move, so it didn't do any serious damage to the car, or us, who were inside of it. I was pretty shaken by the incident and refused to ride beside the door at that time.

Not anymore. It happened when I was a kid, now that I'm older, that fear just went away.

This incident was not quite as bad as yours but my husband had a habit of coughting and spittin out the window of our pickup and not watching really the driver in front. I tried to remind him to watch the road well he spat and drove just once too often and ransmack into the lady in the fancy car ahead of us. She had stopped and he was not reallywatching thus the rear ender. There was not that much physical damage to either car but she complained of whip lash and we both thought of God shes going to sue us but wonderof wonders we never heard from her again Our insurance paid for the small amt of damage done to each car but we never saw the lady again go figure.

Thank God the truck didn't hit you. Consider yourselves really fortunate. Nothing similar experience for me...

Well, it's not about breaks but I had a similar experience. I was on a trip with all my housemates. The head of our group just bought a pick-up and it's his first time to drive in Thailand which uses a right-hand drive. He wanted to overtake a car and it was on a curve. Another pick-up was coming toward us and in his confusion, our driver, drove to the right, thinking that the the pick up would go to his left
Like you I didn't want to see the collision and I shut my eyes. It's good, our driver slowed down and the other pick-up managed to avoid us. Whew!

Thank goodness that your all right, but I do hope this serve as a lesson to your husband to be more careful and not to go along the opposite lane!
As for mine, I do have a similar experience, but it wasn't our fault. My father was going for a U turn, and a public car was selfish enough not to give us way. He continues to step for the gas even though my father was already half way done on doing the U-turn. The result? Our car got squash at the side, good thing though that nobody in my family was on that side of the car!

That is a scary situation I know because when we moved from Kentucky to here (Illinois) we were traveling on the highway and the car was loaded and my husband's truck was loaded and he was behind me in the truck. Our son was in the car with me. As we were traveling and it was right before you get into the city and my breaks went out completely. I didn't know what to do but thankfully my son knew what to do. He talked me through the whole thing. He said to move it over to the side of the road and put it up into I don't remember what gear but anyway he helped me to get the car stopped safely. I was shaking when it finally came to a stop. The car was one of those big heavy station wagons and the picture that flew through my mind was what if I had hit one of the cars in front of me. It could have caused some major damage. Between my guardian angel and my son the car came to a safe stop.

Luckily, I have not experience any accident while driving a vehicle. Hopefully, it will stay that way. Well, its really difficult to be always safe along the road as you drive. There are a lot of factors. You may be very good in driving but someone else along the road may not be. Well, the thing is we will just have to be very careful and insure that our vehicle is in good condition.

as long as the damages were taken care off maybe she was appeased by it..just wondering if there was hit on the spitting
