I'm trying to get excited about summer coming because it's my favorite time of the year. My granddaughter is probably going to summer camp so I won't be spending the whole summer babysitting the way I did last year so I have to start thinking about what the heck I'm going to do! I know that my daughter and I are thinking of taking a trip to see my other daughter in Long Beach in August but that leaves me with a lot more summer to think about!
Are you making plans for the coming summer? If you are what are you going to do?

I was thinking of putting my in a summer camp or getting him involved with the community center and their activities but will have to see if we can afford to send him as I am not sure how much they charge. I'm sure he would rather spend the summer with other kids than with me LOL since his Daddy will be overseas at that time. Who knows, we might even be able to travel with him, but I don't think that will happen :)

When my grandsons visit us we take them to the local Nature Center. They have things for kids all year long dealing with animals and plants and such. They love walking through the woods at the center also. They also have live snakes, turtles and other animals in cages for visitors to see. We love watching feeding time for the snakes a lot. Interseting to watch a snake eat a mouse.

I think summer camp is great for any kid. Parents can only do so much with them and then you end up getting tired of each other. I hope you do get to travel with your hubby.

Now that is a great idea Grandpa Bob. I don't know if there is such a center here, but I'm going to check it out. My son loves nature, insects, animals and all sorts too and I'm sure he would love going to something like this. Thanks for that info!

I've told my wife about my plans to visit Duluth (140 miles) to see some tall ships that are arriving for Minnesotas 150th Birthday of being a State of the Union in August. There will be tours as they are docked at the Harbor as well. Here's a link to a discussion I have about the ships arrival etc.

I am getting ready to start some garden veggies indoor soon for planting after the last frost passes us. I have already scheduled a friend to help me dig another area for more food to be planted this spring. I am hunting for Apple recipes once again for the fall harvest of my apples. I am getting excited to hopefully see a bigger amount of grapes on the vine I planted last year as well. Other than the trip to see the Tall ships all I am thinking as far as summer goes is the garden. Wait, I also need to paint the interiopr, I also have to treat my front deck, I need to reseal my driveway, I need to add walls and shelves in the garage. I need shelves added in the basement. Too much actually so I'll stick with thoughts of a good garden this spring only at this time. Wanna come over help me with all these spring chores?

Oh you know all too well I will have plenty of photos just like last spring. I used to build the tall ship models with all the string (ropwe) work on the sails. Tedious but a lot of fyun. It's been years since I built one though.

I'm looking forward to the pictures and hearing about your garden again this summer. I got to see the Tall Ships when they were here in Boston years ago and it was an awesome experience......don't forget to get some rest with all that work your planning to do!

The summer is my favorite time of the year as well. I love it when the weather is really hot or the days are pleasantly warm. I enjoy going out to the seaside, having days out to places of interest and having picnics with my friends in a pretty spot in the Great Outdoors. I love to go walking along a coastal track with cliffs to see, along country paths with views to enjoy and I like cycling along my local paths that are free from traffic. The last weekend of May I am going to a vegan festival and in June I am taking my baby son to Latvia. In July I have my birthday. In July and August I hope to take a trip to the Yorkshire Coast, a walking trip along the South West Coast path and a trip to the Pembrokeshire coastline. I think it would be lovely if you visit your daughter in Long Beach. I hope that you will have a wonderful summer.

Actually no because we usually get our God kids for the summer but we're not this year because we can't afford to this year. We're going to miss them something awful but such is life. So all we've really got in mind to do is clear or clean up our back yard woods and make it nice and pretty like so when we go to sell, it'll bring in more money.

Well, I DID have my summer all planned. I built a tiki hut last summer and put blue dye in the pond. Kids and Moms came from all over the neighborhood all summer long to sit under the hut and swim in the pond. (don't worry, I test it weekly) I had planned on doing the same thing this summer. I just found out that my son has summer school. BUMMER!

At this point, I'm just trying to get through winter. We thought spring was here, and even had all the snow melted off our front yard. But, we got another 10 inches of snow dumped on us yesterday.

Summer has already arrived in my city. Its hot and there is no breeze today. My June is called June Gloom and its when spring arrives, so its backwards here. I live near the beach or it would be worse. Every pond needed a lot of water to refill today.
I spend all of the months ahead planting and selling plants, so that is what I will be doing until October. Hopefully, I will be able to find enough time to post. My vacations are in November and December.

My step-son is joining the Air Force in May, so that means a few days in San Antonio, Texas for his graduation from Basic Training.
Are hoping to visit the relatives in Buffalo, NY in August, but I don't think that will happen.
Those are my summer plans

Summer has already arrived here in India. I can't bear the heat anymore, it is scorching hot over here. I'm just looking forward to winter which is a few months far.
By the way, I made no special plans for summer, other than protecting myself from the superficial sun burn.

Probably gardening, esp. with the cost of food, I think we will be doing expanded gardening. Starting window sill gardens for a friend who will be recooperating from an operation and using a wheel chair. Probably taking care of that person's cats.
Depending on the age of the person you will be with, you may want to try some arts and crafts projects, esp. with recycled objects. Hope you have a wonderful summer, sounds like a fun one. Take care.

Yes, I am trying to figure out plans for summer already. The reason is because I have to share my older three kids with my ex-husband but I get them the majority of the summer. We are thinking of possibly going to New Mexico. We are also going to New York for a week in June.
I am not sure what else we are going to do yet.

I made plans and stuck to them but not quite as good as your plans. I planned and did, leave my husband and moved to another province. I have been living here with my adult daughter for 2 months and I am loving it. But I have to work so I won't be doing a whole lot of planning for the summer. I can't go on a holiday till at least the end of the year. But that is okay, there is always the weekends.
