Sam Houston National Park Fire

While coming home yesterday, we drove through the Sam Houston National Forest and saw....well, trees lol. Both sides of the road were filled with trees. Anyway, as soon as we got through to the highway, we noticed a WHOLE lot of smoke coming out of the forest. Now, I don't know what the smoke was coming from. It could've been a forest fire, or it could've been some of the rangers burning the underbrush. Whatever was the cause, it looked really dangerous because the smoke was covering the sky like a tornado or something. Why do the rangers sometimes burn the underbrush? Does anyone know the reason why? That would be interesting to find out.

I read the first line and laughed my a$$ off. The whole trees thing got me. That could be pretty dangerous if it wasn't already. I don't know why the rangers burn the underbrush. I didn't know they did that in the first place. lol I'm not from a place around a national park or I just haven't ever been listening when someone mentioned it. lol
