What's For Dinner Mom?

Does your family let you know what they would like to eat? I get tired of always being the one who decides what we eat. I plan my meals for this reason. I also plan my menu because it helps me stay within my budget. When my husband tells me what he would like to eat for supper, I love it! It's good to know what he prefers instead of me having to fix the same old thing all the time. Sometimes, I tell him he will have to go to the grocery store and buy that extra something, but, he doesn't mind. If he wants what he wants, and is willing to go to the store to get it, then the least thing I can do is fix it for him.

if i left it up to my man, we would eat steak and pasta every single night of the week. if i left it up to my daughter we would eat white rice every day of the week. if i left it up to my middle son we would eat out every day of the week. now my older son, when he want's something he cooks it himself. I prefer to plan out the man dish and then ask what they want for sides. other then that all heck brakes lose!

I wish they did LOL I always ask but the answer is often "Anything you cook" , "doesn't really matter" , "something" or " I don't know " heheheh WHen we cook every single day for years and years it gets to a time where we just are plain out of creativity and little input would be appreciated.

If you cook some off the wall dish that you know will be thrown out, they might change their tune. Just tell them it was something you wanted to try. Next time, they'll think twice..lol

My youngest daughter does, I"m very thankful to her sometimes when I got nothing to cook because I tired of thinking what is to cook in depends on my budget. My youngest daughter always ask me to cook her favorite dish.

I'll ask my husband what he would like for dinner and he always says "Chili!". That's about the only request I get around here. Chili the way he likes it has no taste, so I have to make two batches - not that hard. I truly wish they would have some other suggestions - my mind just goes blank when planning a menu. I have to get out the recipe folders. whit

Well, my kids do say what they want, but usually it is something like pizza and we don't have the extra cash for it..I would love it if they mentioned something I can make here at home, but they are so picky, I only get what kind of cookies or cake they want..

Have you tried homemade pizza or the microwave kind? It's pretty cheap to make it from scratch or even the little individual pizzas in the freezer section.

There are few frozen pizzas we will eat. As for homemade, keeping the right cheese in the house is hard, but one day when we do, I might surprise them with home made pizza.. Thanks for the tip..

I really love to cook, especially those dishes that kids and spouse wants. I am ready to cook whatever they demand. But I make sure that I have those items ready before they demand. Most of the time I ask them to give two or three choices and they are happy that they get their choice.

It sure helps when you know what they would like to eat. I like it when they tell me what they want.
