It's True! We went away for the four days of Easter. We stayed at a country town called Kapunda, in South Australia;'s mid north.
On the very first day, my husband was excited about the golf course being right next door to the caravan park. He had my daughter & I up early with the intention of playing the whole 18 courses.
My daughter picked up the idea of golf fairly quickly. Her aim was quite good & she is a fairly stro9ng hitter.
Me! Many times I missed the gold ball. When I did manage to hit it, my aim was fairly straight, but not strong.
We weren't keeping scores. just having a bit of fun.
We wended up playing 9 courses of golf, not 18, as it was fairly tiring.
I must admit to enjoying it quite a bit.
There is a lot of gentle walking involved, concentration is required & the scenery was very pretty.
Hubby & I are seriously thinking of enquiring as to the cost of local golf courses, as this would help us get fitter.
Have you ever played golf? Is golf expensive where you live?

I am glad that you had an enjoyable time on the golf course. I have enjoying playing crazy golf in a seaside holiday resort. I haven't tried proper golf yet. It seems like golf courses are in many beautiful locations and I like it that they are wide, open areas that haven't been built on. My home town has a lovely golf course the other side of sand dunes and another on a hill with glorious coastal views. I am not sure about the cost of golfing equipment or membership fees. Yes, playing golf must be an enjoyable way to keep to keep fit. It is possible to play overseas as well as in your home country. When I was in Australia my friend took me to the edge of her local golf course so I could see some kangaroos.

Yes, kangaroos are known to hang around golf courses.
When we were playing golf, we met a frustrated golfer who was taking his dog home. Seems the dog would chase the golf balls, then return them to the owner.

I don't play golf. I do know that the green fees are quite expensive. Best that I don't like to play golf because I couldn't afford the fees.
Hubby has taken me to play minature golf. This is not a game to my liking.

I agree with you regarding minature golf. Quite an unmotivating game.
My hubby used to plat golf in his days of having no kids, when he could afford it. We may get a big shock if we find out the local fees are too high.

I have never played golf. When I was growing up my cousins all played and even had little golf clubs especially made for children. Here where I live it is pretty expensive. I am told that is addicting but also a very healthy addiction!

I didn't think I could be addicted to golf, but it represents the best way I can exercise at the moment. I wont be playing it if it turns out to be too expensive locally though.

I love golf and used to play as many as four times a week but it has gotten sooooooo expensive that I only go occasionally now...but I love it! It's good exercise and you are right....the scenery is gorgeous at most golf courses. Glad you liked the game!

Golf in many small country courses is quite cheap. It is these city courses that charge a fortune, particularly the ones in the high class areas. There are three golf courses near us, so we are going to check out the cost of all three.
