As some know, I've had a few discussions about Eckhart Tolle's book "A New Earth" which is now being presented in a first ever, world wide event Live webcast on the Oprah.com website and is a discussion of the book between Oprah and Tolle.
The book is ten chapters long and that is how many weeks this webcast will last. It's on each Monday around 9:00 p.m. and this Monday coming up will be week five...this is a FREE event, all one has to do is go to the oprah.com website, and sign up if you wish to..or just go to the site the night it's broadcast..of course you have to find out WHEN it will be on in your area due to the time differences. If you don't have the book you can still get the drift of it by just listening to it

One can even catch up with the past episodes, each being about 90 minutes long by clicking on the "downloads" which are free too. In fact everything is free that goes with this webcast, including one can download the transcripts of the past episodes, download just the audio or the video or both..and if you have iTunes can download it that way as well--Like I said..it's all free...so what do you have to lose??

For those curious about some of Tolle's other "talks" you can even go to Youtube and type in Eckhart Tolle and it will open up to some of his former discussions elsewhere
So even if you're just mildly curious about all the hubbub...why not give it a go?? I'm loving it!!
Oh...hehe and as an extra bonus..there are exercises to boost one's mind, a workbook one can download (again free)...and there is one spot called "breathingspace" where viewers have sent inspirational type photos...and guess who sent one in and my photo is being considered for it..yup ...me..just got an email about that yesterday..
The breathingspace link is here...hey, send in your photos!

I mentioned this in other discussion but I am amazed my boyfriend took to Exchart Tolle's book and I've been trying to pass stuff on to him which really made an impression on me, for some time. Anyways, I am glad it worked out the way it did, that is I was able to get the book on CD because now me and my bf have been able to listen to it together and discuss it. He says I have a great pain-body which is true, today I listened to the 'talk' in my head as I was gettign frustrated in the bookstore as my daughter was spilling chips, throwing her sippie cup, grabbing book after book and at first I was really worked up but then I thought to myself 'thats the talk!' and I just observed what was happening as it was and that was that, I didn't take it as some personal attack and the pain-body thing wasn't able to formulate. It was good practice and Im waiting to try it with both my daughters, my oldest comes back today and things can get pretty challenging, still it'll be fun to try.

I have to admit I've gotten behind a bit in the reading of the book...but I still watch the webcasts on Oprah.com every Monday night without fail and have downloaded the audio of each show, and the transcripts...I'd download the videos but thinking that would take up too much space in my computer. It's really fascinating about the pain body thing...while I might have a "tinge" of a "pain body" my mother was the real drama queen of pain bodies..I'm reading the book especially the pain body chapters and I'm having an ah-ha moment thinking wow that sounds so much like the way my mother was that it's eerie!
This is definitely a book to read many, many times, don't you think or listen to the CDs--since you have the CDs, who reads them...is it Tolle himself?

Well I came from a very dysfunctional household and I was adopted so it wasn't hard picking these ideas up but I have never stopped trying to disperse myself of them because it feels like carrying 50 pounds around all day and thats just no way to live, I do have AHA moments but I always allow to ego to step back in and thats what Im working on. I really like how Tolle explained it to another woman in his book--to just observe, see it for what it is and step outside of it, acknowledge that it happened and thats that and that it has no hold on me now unless I allow it to.

LOL--I came from a dysfunctional family background as well..actually I think it's rare when a person hasn't. I do sometimes have conflicts about Tolle..you see I'm also into the whole Law Of Attraction thing ...actually grew up in the principles but was reminded of it due to the DVD The Secret. I'm conflicted cause, yes, I long for a lot of success and yes fame through my artistic work...but now there's the whole Tolle thing about the Ego...Like is it my Ego that wants success? Is it therefore wrong to want success?

Well as I responded to those discussions of yours and mentioned..maybe most people aren't ready to be "enlightened"---there's that saying, when the student is ready the teacher will arrive...so most students aren't ready yet--maybe one day they will be
