my friend from abroad came last month,
it was our first time meeting each other
all this time, we only keep in touch via msn or emails
and the language we use for all this time is english
when we met, i asked one of my local friend to come with me
after we met, my native friend and i communicated with english
i've been studying english since i was 7 years old
english is not the primary or even the second language here
we only use english for watching movies without translation, hahaa LoL
when we met, i speaked very clumsy.. LoL
my english is also not really good, i feel i practiced my english much better when we chat than when we met, LoL
i'm more often practising english than my local friend, since i got some natives friend abroad
i'm sure that he also understand english.. but not fluently enough to practice it
i just wondered, if you are an english speaker,
which is more better to chat with ??
the more fluently one, or the less fluently ??
i didn't say that i'm the fluently one, i feel my english is very terrible when i practiced it
share with me please, hehee, thanks .. ^^

I am an fluent English speaker, its my first language and I dont really speak any other languages (apart from when i was school but have forgotten all that.)
I dont think it would matter if you were talking to someone fluent or less fluent. Though the less fluent would be wanting to have a conversation about anything and everything to practise the language whereas the fluent speaker would only speak about their interests and what is happening in their life.
Though the conversation with the less fluent would be a slow one as trying to explain what they meant and trying to describe things would take time.
It does help that you have someone to talk English with, chattng on the net helps. Reading the discussions outloud so you can hear how all the words sound plus having access to books in English would help you understand the way the words are made to join the sentence.

if you are okay chatting with english, i guess it is the better way. english is not my primary language too, but i am used to speaking english both at work and through chat. i learned english since i was in primary school and have practiced all through my school days.
learning languages is easy if you are able to speak and practice speaking it with someone else. when you know someone who is not very fluent in the language you speak, it is hard to talk with them but what matters is that you are able to talk and still understand each other.
honestly, if i will be speaking with an american right now, i probably will have nothing much to say.. as compared to me speaking with perhaps, a chinese too who is not very fluent in english. i guess it depends on how long you know the person you are chatting with. it makes the difference because you will not ran out of things to say.
