The Kentucky Derby is approaching once again. I have known some people in the past who loved to attend the annual event. Although I've never actually attended, I love to watch on TV. If you do attend the Derby, do you throw one of those parties that I've heard so much about? I understand they are awarding a prize for the best party with celebrity host Chef Bobby Flay this year. My daughter and her boyfriend went down a couple of years ago and they said it was very exciting. They even brought me back a T-shirt.

I've never been to the Kentucky Derby but do watch it on television each year. Am sure it's a blast to actually attend and party before the actual race. I'm a big horse lover. Took riding lessons as a kid and have always been fond of horses.

I had a couple of funny experiences on a horse. Both were embarrassing but funny as hell....lol

My uncle kept an old nag by the name of Ada when I was a kid, carolbee, and I think I got up the nerve to ride on Ada only once. My only other experience riding horses is much to embarrassing to be told here.

I don't even know where it is held, but where ever it is it is too far away from me, I have only been to the hypodrome here in montreal once.

It is a traditional event that is held annually, winterose, and has been for as long as I can remember. The races are attended by thousands of people, most of which love horse races.

I have never been to the Kentucky Derby and I used to lice about 15-20 miles from it. I am not much into live horse racing. I do like to watch it on television though. We used to go to Derby parties and they would serve the Mint Julips and we would place our small bets on the horses and draw out their names. We live about 50 or 60 miles from the track now. We really don't do a whole lot for Derby anymore. We just kind of grew away from it for some reason.

I believe the dynamics of the Derby have changed quite a bit over the last few years, stephcjh, mostly because it has become the "in" place to be seen among many of the celebrities in the entertainment industry. I find that they are swarming to the Derby in much the same way they began swarming to the NBA several years ago. I wonder what the next "in" thing will be.

I'm not sure what the next "in thing" will be LOL. Who knows. The celebrities seem to take over everything anymore. They are all related to the presidents and the people running for office too, it seems, LOL. I guess they get bored with their real careers LOL and all that money so they go to the track to burn some of it up and gain more publicity LOL.

No I do not attend the Kentucky Derby and Probably never will I mean that sounds like fun and all that stuff but I have saw a few shows on it and it just looks like a lot of trouble trying to get there and all of that stuff...I mean i guess if the chance to go were to ever come up for me I would but I don't think that I am ever going to plan a vacation around it or anything like that...the most famous thing I remember about that was that horse a few years ago that broke its leg I think its name was barbaro or something like that... I have never attended the Derby. We do have Derby parties or attend one. I don't get into horse races.
