Reading on a palm top

Has anyone tried reading books on a palmtop? I have read about three or four so far and I love it, because I can wake up in the night and I can read in bed, I don't have to turn the computer on, not even the lights. The only thing I'm concerned about is: can the screen damage my eyes? It is a little bright and sometimes my eyes seemed tired after reading. Is there such a thing as a screen protector for the palmtop?

Whether palm top or laptop it does not match reading in habituated ways from childhood.Oops! I can not even think of myself reading on palmtop, because such a situation never arises for one to read and enjoy a book. It is more straining and can and one not sit for longer hours.
