Hi There for years lots of my cars suffered from missing wheel trims. There were usually only three rather than four. How to solve this problem. When I bought my latest car it had no wheel trims and it looked messy so I invested in a brand new set but didn't want to lose any so what I done was use cable ties to tie them on. I used clear so they look unobtrusive. Excellent no more missing wheel trims. Do you have this problem? Have you ever done something like this to resolve the situation? Please share. Ellie :D

That's a great idea. But you will have to cut them if you need to change the wheel ever. When we lived in London people used to pinch the wheel trims. So I bought a load from Halfords, the cheapest that I could get. Put four on and and then if I lost one I just replaced it with another. Other people just drove without them at all. My current car has wheel trims over alloy wheels. Some people take them off to show off the alloy. I prefer my wheels on the car, so I leave the trims on.

I always carry some small scissors in the glove compartment anyway to cut if necessary, but if someones going steal them they'll do the same I guess it was more to make sure they don't fall off when driving. Ellie :D

Funny how almost every large roundabout has a wheel trim lying loose somewhere. There's a secondhand shop in Salisbury that specializes in wheel trims. Perhaps that is where he gets them from.

Wow lucky you, I would love to have alloys, but the wheel trims with the ties work just fine for now. Thanks for sharing what a great company you work for. Ellie :D

I have always used cable ties on my wheel trims, after having two sets of them either lost or stolen in the past. This tip was given to me a few years ago by a policeman who recommended that cable ties are used, especially on an expensive set of trims

Hi Thanks for sharing that you do this too. I put them on mainly not to lose if got loose while driving but I suppose having them on will deter them being stolen to some extent but if they are determined they can always cut through the ties eh! Ellie :D

LOL I was looking at my car today thinking the poor lil thing looked rather shabby without any wheel trims at all but I did the cable ties thing with the last set I had and it was a nightmare having to try to remove the wheel trims whenever I needed to put air in the tyres so I've been driving my car around with no wheel trims at all. It looks awful but at least no one's going to try to steal anything from the car at all hehe!

I'm glad I am not the only one who does this. I must be real lucky because mine are positioned so that I can still get to the caps to put air in. In fact I did just that on Friday before I went away so perhaps this would work if you got another set. I haven't got a parcel shelf so picked up a dog guard from recycle centre so if I had to brake hard the stuff in the boot wouldn't be a dangerous load and thats cable tied in to LOL loads of uses, even used them to stop my little boy swivelling the swivel chair by tying underneath!
